Upon inspection of the site it was easy to see why the entire design for this home was a contemporary interpretation evolving from maritime history in the midst of the serene bayside suburb of Williamstown.
It was paramount to our clients that the design embraced and captured the amazing continuous panoramic views from the Westgate Bridge, to the eastern side of the CBD and to the bayside suburbs of St.Kilda and beyond.
- Continuous Panoramic Views
- Curved Varandah
- Maritime History
This home is another wonderful testimony to Sherbrooke’s meticulous attention to detail. Outside the modern curved verandah and the tall columns used throughout the home resemble a mast on a yacht.
On entering you are immediately greeted with the sound of a running stream creating a sense of tranquility and vast areas of continuous glass take advantage of the spectacular views. The internal design is planned so the rooms and spaces are like spokes connecting to the centre of a wheel keeping passageways to a minimum and creating spacious and flowing areas.
The ensuite to the parents’ retreat replicates the boating theme with mirrored twinvanities in granite resembling the shape of a boat bow. The shower is concealed behind a curved mosaic tiled wall similar to the arc of a boat hull, with feature blue lights in the wall base.
The final result of this home was a contemporary home blending all things maritime displaying an excellence in design, interpretation and craftsmanship.
